That said, here is the order of events for a typical customer using our Monitoring and Maintenance service.

Investigation is first. Throughout the inital process, we will have been gathering information about your business in preparation for this stage. We want to understand how we can be of the most benefit to your business and how we can partner with you for success. Our analysts will sit down with the appropriate people in your organization and ensure that we know what your short term and long term goals are. This may be as simple as "make my servers perform better" or as in depth as understanding a complex IT strategy in support of a research and development project. Once we know what the goals are, we will perform an inventory and evaluation of your servers to ensure that we know where the starting point is. This is very closely related to our Health Check. This will give us a good idea of what you have and what needs to be touched up before we continue. A very specific set of recommendations will follow in order to make sure that your systems are prepared for the longer term. Once you have decided which recommendations you want to put in place, we will assist your team in implementing those items. If you prefer, our team can do the implementation as well.

Once the systems have been prepared and are ready to go, our network team works with your network team to prepare a secure tunnel between your location and ours. We work with you to set appropriate permissions so that our team can monitor the systems without endangering your information. You will receive a monthly report of how your systems are performing, any issues that have occurred and any indicators that have shown up that there may be a future issue. As we see indicators of issues, we will let you know what we are seeing and what we are doing to prevent the issue from actually happening. This proactive resolution of issues will mitigate more than 90% of the business interruptions that are commonly seen. Of course nothing is perfect so an unanticipated issue may occur. When it does, you'll know you have an issue, what we are doing to solve the issue, our estimates of the impact to your business and the estimated time it will be resolved.

Along the way, we will perform regularly scheduled maintenance, install patches and hotfixes and keep your servers healthy and operating at their best. You can confirm this yourself through detailed, business oriented reports that are available in our customer area. Most of these reports are run in real time, that is they contain up to the minute information.
